Second Annual Bloggers' Brunch & Costume Party

Last year was our first annual Blogger's Brunch and Costume Party. Our theme was Rockwell & Renoir. For those who missed it, you can read about it in my August 2005 Archives. (Scroll down after seeing some of the funnies my kids said when they were young and then you'll see "My Saturday Evening Post" which I wrote after the party.)

I'm in the mood for another get-together with my bloggin' sisters.(Bloggers and commenters.) I was thinking I'd throw a few ideas out there for theme and other stuff. Here's what's off the top of my head:

1) A costume party.
2) Theme possibilities:
a. Authors -- of the 20th century, or a certain decade, or a particular genre
b. Book characters
c. TV personality of the ___ (50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s)
d. Comic strip chicks
e. Board game figure (i.e Miss Peacock from Clue, or a pink baby from LIFE, or
a big blue dot from Twister! Use your imagination.)

3) Candle exchange?
4) Planned potluck
5) Brunch time (10 or 11 a.m.)
6) My house or someone else's, it doesn't matter.
7) Mid-October
8) Play "Beyond Balderdash"

Perhaps each "snob" (as other bloggers have affectionately dubbed another) could take the lead in doing what she does best to make this a group effort party:

Ice-breaker games (you know, in case we get "stuck" for free-flowing conversation. Yeh, right.)

Researched trivia (meaning, find little facts and use them in party questions or some other fun way)
