Try Being Someone Else for a Day

I've been toying with this idea and wondered if I should post it.
My idea is to try being someone I admire for a day, or at least doing something that is a good habit of theirs.

What's this I'm suggesting? Well, here are a few things I admire in other people, though I am only going to pick ONE to do in a day. Otherwise, I might end the day thinking the way I used to think after reading Proverbs 31, that there is a woman out there who measures up to every one of the criteria mentioned therein!

I won't mention any names, because the truth is, several women exhibit several of these good habits. But just to give you some ideas:

1) Keep your sink cleared of all dishes, and shiny all day.
2) Get up an hour before your kids and read the Bible and pray.
3) Take a half hour walk.
4) Clean all levels of your house in one day. Vacuum, dust, windex, the whole bit.
5) Do all of your laundry in one day.
6) Call someone you don't usually talk to and encourage her with a scripture verse.
7) Send a note in your husband's and kids' lunches.
8) Have someone over for dessert in the next week.
9) Play on the floor with your young children for an hour straight.
10 Make this week's menu and coordinating grocery list; stick to the list exactly when shopping.

Remember, this is just a ONE DAY thing. I'm not suggesting morphing longterm or advocating practice over principle. I just thought I'd like to try it, and put it out there for your consideration. If you try it, let me know which one!
Should be fun to see who does what, for a change.

Well, I'm a man, but I do keep the sink clean.

Where do I go to file a discrimination suit?

My mom was a whiz with number 10. It was like the thought never even crossed her mind to buy something not on the list. And then there's me...go to the grocery store every other day to pick up something I ran out of...and each time, somehow walk out with a candy bar or gum. Yet somehow...I'm ok with that! :)

I dunno, Joe, maybe you could practice letting your feminine side show for a day? Maybe not.

Sorry about the discrimination thing. I forget that I have you as my token male reader.

Do you have a male you admire and would like to emulate for a day in some area?

Oh, let me ask you: what is the situation there post-Wilma in the parts of FL that got hit?Are folks getting what they need?

Excellent idea!

I often "pretend" to be someone else when I'm in situations where I don't know what to do, or am unconfident. I often say to myself, "I'll just pretend I'm Anna (my good friend and pastor's wife)." She's usually mortified when I tell her. :)

I love the list. That is what I aspire to. And you're right, I usually feel frustrated 'cause I don't match up. But, I do find success at #5 fairly often- it's my Mondays and Fridays thing to do.

Would you like to try number 4 at my house :-)

Seriously, this is a cool idea and I like it very much.
